I am 53 years old and was hit by a car and have never been the same. I had to have my hip replaced and have mobility challenges which prevent me from working and also from hving much of a social life.You never know what you got till it;s gone is an understatement because I lost pretty much everything from this one accident. I lost my job, housing and my wife and kids and now I am trying to make the best of my situation. It has been a long journey with my healing but I’m not going to give up. I have a new best friend my dog and she is my everything. I wish for everyone to have a happy safe holiday hopefully with the ones you love that is all that matters

My wish is for a gift card for walmart or safeway so I can get some food and a gift for myself and my dog. Merry Christmas and have a holiday full of love with the ones you care about

Website telling personal stories of the homeless trying to go global

A Vancouver website that tells the stories of homeless people is gaining traction here in B.C. and is hoping to expand globally. It started in 2005 when Daniel and Jeannie Keeran came across a homeless man sleeping on a bench and brought him breakfast.

“We started talking to him about his life, so he gave us some details, and we thought, would not it be great if we can get the stories of more homeless people and put them on a website,” says Daniel Keeran.

From there, homelesspartners.com was born, a platform where the less fortunate are telling their stories, opening up about current circumstances and the journey along the way.

There is also a wish list of gifts — simple things that can make a world of difference. Now, homelesspartners.com is planning to expand. The plan is to make the program available in every city, every holiday season.

The founders have launched an Indiegogo campaign, raising money to develop new and improved software.

The goal is set at $10,000 before November 20.
