Mina was born in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut but has lived in Winnipeg for the last 23 years. She spent some interesting time working as a home support worker, a tenant relation officer, and four years doing office work with the government. A highlight for her was cooking and caring for people in their homes. She came to Siloam to receive counseling, meals, and clothing as needed. She is currently challenged by arthritis and ailing ankles and knees not to mention that nagging credit card bill. She finds great encouragement from spending time with her son, daughter and other family members. In fact, she has fond memories of the trip she made to visit her siblings in Whale Cove one Christmas.
